Saka vs Palmer who is the Prince of the Premier League?

Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer are two of the best talents England has produced in recent years. With both performing at a tremendously high level for both club and country, it’s only natural that fans have begun comparing the two young forwards, sparking many disputes over who is the “better” footballer. Let’s look at them individually and see if we can come to a conclusion ourselves. Let’s begin with Arsenal’s star boy who has proven himself to be one of the best right wingers in world football. He currently leads the premier league in assists (7) and has also picked up a couple of goals to go along with them. The absence of Martin Ødegaard has partially stripped the Gunners of their creativity in the midfield, however Saka has still managed to provide a goal contribution in every Premier League fixture he’s played in so far. His set-piece taking is also awe-inspiring and is amongst Arsenal’s greatest strengths, right alongside his and Kai Havertz’ partnership in the front line. Efficiency and consistency are key to becoming a top player in the sport, and Bukayo Saka embodies both of those traits, having played at this level for years. He takes on fullbacks, gets past them, and creates chance after chance after chance. Now for Cole Palmer, the rising superstar in West London. 11 goal involvements and counting to his name this season, beating out even Erling Haaland to the top of that mountain. Off the back of a magical individual season for Chelsea, Palmer is continuing his unbelievable run of form, firmly planting himself amongst the best players on the league. Similarly to Saka, he’s a goal threat, a creative spark and great at taking set-pieces, though Bukayo does have more experience at this level. However, the one attribute separating these two is Cole’s ability to drag his team to victories and heights that some might say are undeserved. The “clutch” gene. On their best day, Saka and Palmer are both world beaters, and no one can argue against that, Saka’s performances though may be slightly reliant on his team’s conduct, whereas Palmer has the ability to perform regardless, stepping up for his team when they are down. Arsenal’s current form will make this a non issue for Saka, as they are one of the best teams in the league, but if the Gunners’ train ever derails…I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
